We spoke with him recently about his aspirations for the NBA 2K community in Singapore, the parallels between basketball in the virtual world and reality, and what he feels about flying the Singapore flag (and the only Southeast Asian for that matter) in the upcoming NBA 2K League Season 4 Draft. Besides his virtual exploits, he is also a bona fide athlete in real life, travelling with the Singapore men’s national team to Hong Kong for the 2016 Super Kung Sheung invitational tournament. He has been active in the NBA 2K Pro-Am mode since late 2019, and in just a few short months, propelled himself to the upper echelons of the NBA 2K universe. Known as Hulksmash2k to the NBA 2K world, or also known affectionately as Gorilla closer to home, getting into the draft is only just his first step towards a bigger objective. Or to be precise, the NBA 2K League Draft. Koa Wei Quan recently accomplished a first for a Singaporean - being invited by the NBA to their draft.
